My name is Mark Richter.
I'm a non-commercial, hobbyist photographer. This is not my profession, it's my passion.
My muse, mentor, and partner wan't quite finished helping me learn photography when cancer claimed her. And so I continue this journey without her.
Thanks to close friends who continue to encourage me, I am working to better understand this art form.
For me, photography is more than a way to capture an image; it is a way to express a thought through an image. Every photograph tells a story. I continue to learn how to tell that story.
I'm attracted to old things... Things that were once commonplace that are now only seen rarely. I'm drawn to abandoned buildings, rusted cars, and toys that now sit idle. They were once someone's dream, their tools, their imagination.
I'm also drawn to lines, patterns, and especially to people.
Thank you for visiting. I hope you find something you like.
